Installing a Brooktrout TR114 Fax Board
This document describes the steps required to install a legacy non-RoHS compliant Brooktrout TR114 fax board to be used with the ExtraFax Server. Some hints for troubleshooting are also included in this document.
Important Note: Though the Brooktrout TR114 may still work with ExtraFax, it should be noted that this model of fax board has been discontinued and is no longer supported by Cantata, who is the manufacturer of the Brooktrout fax boards. In order to install a Brooktrout TR1034 and TR114 fax boards on the same computer, please read the "Installing Brooktrout TR114 and TR1034 Fax Boards Together" section in this Installation Guide.
Installation
At the time of writing this document, the Brooktrout 4.3 PnP driver is the latest version of Brooktrout TR114 driver posted on the Download page of Extracomm website, which can be downloaded at the following link:
Important Note: Since the driver version and the installation guide may be updated occasionally, it is better to check for the latest information from the Extracomm Download page and Product Documentation page before starting the installation.
Troubleshooting
- Fax channel does not start up properly...
- Fax channel has started up properly, but fails to send or receive faxes...
- Check whether there are any ExtraFax error messages showing on the Domino / ExtraFax consoles.
- Enable ExtraFax Detail Trace Log feature. For details, please refer to the "Enable ExtraFax Detail Trace Log" section in this Installation Guide.
- Try searching for a solution in the ExtraFax FAQ section and Support Forum.
- Shutdown the ExtraFax server, and then test your fax board using the Brooktrout Fax Diagnostic Test Program. If you are not able to send and receive faxes using the Brooktrout Diagnostic Test program, ExtraFax will not work properly either.
