Automatic insertion of International / Long Distance Dialing Prefix
This feature allows ExtraFax to determine whether the dialed fax number is an International, Long Distance or Local fax call. If it is an International Fax Call, ExtraFax will insert the International Dialing Prefix. If it is a Long Distance Fax Call, ExtraFax will insert the Long Distance Dialing Prefix to the fax number to process the fax.
How to Configure?
Open ExtraFax.nsf by using Notes Client -> Server Administration -> Server Configuration -> Open the corresponding Server Document in Edit Mode -> Under "Call Setting" section
Specify the following fields in the document according to your environment
- # of Digits Dialed to Make a Local Call
- Local Country Code
- Include Area Code for Local Call (set it to "No")
- International Dialing Prefix
- Long Distance Dialing Prefix
- Auto-Insert International Dialing Prefix (set it to "Yes")
- Auto-Insert Long Distance Dialing Prefix (set it to "Yes")

How it work?
According to the above setting,
If user dials "6041234567", ExtraFax will strip off the last 7 digits (in which "7" is the number of Digits Dialed to Make a Local Call).
The digits left are "604", then ExtraFax will compare 604 with the Local Area Code (specified in ExtraFax Server Configuration Document).
Since it is the same as the Local Area Code, ExtraFax will strip 604 off, and just dial "1234567" to process the fax.
<ExtraFax will dial -> 1234567>
If user dials 4161234567, ExtraFax will strip off the last 7 digits (in which "7" is the number of Digits Dialed to Make a Local Call).
The digits left are "416", then ExtraFax will compare 416 with the Local Area Code (specified in ExtraFax Server Configuration Document).
Since it is not matched with the Local Area Code, but the no. of prefix digits ("416" i.e. 3 digits) is the same as the no. of digit of Local
Area Code ("604" i.e. 3 digits). Thus ExtraFax will classify it is a Long Distance Fax Call, then ExtraFax will insert the Long Distance
Dialing Prefix "1" (Specified in ExtraFax Server Configuration document) to process the fax.
< ExtraFax will dial -> 14161234567>
If user dials 45001234567, ExtraFax will strip off the last 7 digits (in which "7" is the number of Digits Dialed to Make a Local Call).
The digits left are "4500", then ExtraFax will compare 4500 with the Local Area Code (Specified in ExtraFax Server Configuration Document).
Since it is not matched with the Local Area Code and the no. of prefix digits is not the same as the no. of digit of Local Area Code, thus
ExtraFax will classify it is an International Fax Call, and insert the International Dialing Prefix "011" to process the fax.
<ExtraFax will dial -> 01145001234567>
